Wassail Spiked Punch

 

Wassail is made so many ways — no one has a right or wrong way in making this punch
Just give it a try, and have a good time
It truly is fun to make and smells so good
This is a very festive punch for the Holidays, that is for sure

 

Ingredients:

 
4 cups Hot Tea

4 cups Cranberry Juice

4 to 6 cups 100% Apple Juice – no sugar added

2 cups Orange Juice

1 cup Pineapple Juice – optional

3/4 cup Lemon Juice

1/2 cup Brown Sugar – more or less to taste – Regular sugar can be used instead if desired

Pinch of Ground Ginger

Pinch of Nutmeg

Tie the next 2 ingredients up in a cheese cloth so they are easy to remove

3 cinnamon sticks

12 whole cloves

Can slice an orange to float in Wassail after cooking is done — if desired — looks pretty also
 
Add any Alcohol you like — after cooking process is complete

Such as: Rum, Brandy or Whiskey??? You get to decide!

I think I would not add the booze to the punch –
I would pour it in my cup and then add the punch to it –
That way everyone can decide for themselves which type of alcohol they would like if any at all.  
That is assuming there is a variety of alcohol to choose from  :o)
 

Directions:

 
Put all of the ingredients into a large slow cooker — except for alcohol

Cover and cook on high for 1 hour or until punch begins to boil or you can cook on low all day

Can also be cooked in a large pot – on top of the stove – on low heat

While WASSAIL is cooking the Aromas are amazing !!!

When Wassail Punch is done cooking

Pour in your alcohol of preference — if any desired

then pour Wassail into Big Mugs with a heatproof ladle

Serve this punch hot or at least pretty warm !!!
